2007 Labor Day Celebration
Monday, September 3, 2007 - 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Florida State Fairgrounds

Join us for great food and fun with our union family! Show your union pride—wear your union
shirts, caps, pins and other emblems.
Planned Events:
?? Lupton’s Catering will be providing its famous
BBQ pork and chicken, baked beans, Cole slaw,
rolls & butter, and sweet or un-sweet tea.
Other food and drink items, such as funnel
cakes, candy apples, cotton candy, beer, wine,
sodas and lemonade will be available at a
separate cost.
?? Visit our many exhibits showcasing Tampa
Bay unions, the companies they work with,
and other sponsors. Many of our trade unions
offering apprenticeship programs will be on
hand to demonstrate their crafts and provide
information on how to “earn while you learn.”
?? A Classic Car & Motorcycle Show will be held
with fan participation determining the 1st, 2nd
and 3rd place each in the classic car and
motorcycle categories.
?? There will be items on display “Made in the
USA” emphasizing the choices that consumers
can make that help keep American jobs.

?? Back again this year, a Water Balloon
Tournament offering great prizes to the
winners and a chance for the losers to cool off.
?? In addition to the opportunity to meet federal,
state and local elected leaders, our program
will include a keynote speaker as well as musical
entertainment by union members.
?? This year’s carnival has been expanded to
include a rock climbing wall for the older kids.
The younger kids will enjoy climbing aboard
several rides “just their size.” All rides are free
to union members presenting a wristband.
Other Items of Note:
?? There is no admission charge for the Labor Day
Celebration, either for union members or the
public; however, the Fairgrounds charges $5.00
per car or $10.00 per RV or bus for parking.
Access to the event site on the Fairgrounds will
be through the entrance at Martin Luther King,
Jr. Blvd.
?? Members of the public who do not belong to
unions are welcome and encouraged to attend
to enjoy a family-friendly day celebrating Labor
Day. This event shall honor and serve to
educate others about unions and their
importance—past, present and future.
